Sedona Vortexes and spiritual attractions draw visitors from around the world to this beautiful and mystical destination. Natural geomagnetic points that create energy centers, also known as a “vortexes,” are said to facilitate balance, spiritual intuitiveness, and healing. Many visitors come to Sedona to experience this unique energy.
In Sedona, there are four main energy vortexes: The Airport Vortex, the Red Rock Crossing/Cathedral Rock Vortex, the Boynton Canyon Vortex, and the Bell Rock Vortex. Each is said to strengthen the inner being of anyone who comes within about a quarter mile of it. This occurs because the energy center from a person is similar to the energy that comes from a vortex.
The power and draw of these vortexes has facilitated Sedona’s growth and tourism, attracting many people from different faiths and spiritual backgrounds. Sedona is often referred to as a spiritual Disneyland, with a large New Age community promoting a variety of alternative healing and spiritual practices. It has also become a well-known destination for its psychics, tarot card readings, and other energy healing practices and retreats.
Another unique spiritual attraction in Sedona is the Chapel of the Holy Cross, which has been a Sedona landmark since its completion in 1956 (it was designed by Marguerite Brunswig Staude who was a pupil of Frank Lloyd Wright). The Chapel appears to rise out of the surrounding red rocks, presenting an incredible photo opportunity of not only the structure, but the views as well.
